UCABA Board of Directors: Open Position Descriptions

Thank you for your interest in the University of Chicago Association of Black Alumni. We invite you to complete this application for board membership beginning in September 2019. Officer terms are voluntary, considered to last for two years unless otherwise stated. If you would like to nominate a peer for consideration, please do so using this form.


Ucaba Board Descriptions

Board of Directors

  • Board of Director officer positions last for a two-year term; Metro Chairs are one-year positions
  • At-Large Directors and Committee members are non-officer/non-chair Board members that serve on their local committee
  • Board meetings should are held regularly (e.g. Monthly, quarterly, etc.) and are always remotely accessible

Metro Committee

  • Metro-area efforts are coordinated by the Metro Chair in that city. The chair will oversee volunteers in the metro committee
  • The affinity group Vice President serves as a liaison to committee members in different regions
  • Committee members are not part of the Board of Directors; they commit to supporting the committee for one-year
  • Metro committees of affinity groups are also supported by their corresponding regional club
  • Metro chairs must reside in the geographic area that they are representing
